This is a poem i wrote in November 2024. I had just begun the Breathing Space facilitator training and was also beginning my journey with Soul Signatures. Looking back, I can see that both were becoming important parts of a much deeper personal journey, although at the time I was simply trying to navigate what I was feeling.
Writing became a way of letting some of those emotions out.
A way of making sense of what was happening inside me.
This poem came from that place.
It reflects the sadness, grief, fear and uncertainty I was experiencing.
I was at the start of my breathwork journey.
My Soul Has Been Calling
A roller coaster ride, feeling the fear
Turbulent, tiring, a vulnerable tear
Energetic shifts, dark nights of the soul
Everything happens to grow and evolve
Surrendering sadness, tears of despair
Old patterns repeating can only impair
Being open to healing, feeling the grief
Allowing what arises to shift old beliefs
The emotion deep down must surface and rise
Guilt, shame and anger, increasing rage
To arrive at a place of acceptance and knowing
Forgive the trauma and turn the page
With every breath now, let go of shame
Come into balance, find the stillness within
The peace and the wisdom hidden inside
Deep and uncovered – no longer denied
Look at the shadow as well as the light
Find your way, be a beacon so bright
Commit to the path that unfolds for you
Authentic, courageous, abundant and true
Trust in the process, step into your power
It takes courage and strength to transform and flower
Connect with your soul that wants you to dance
Aligned and at peace, able to hear the guidance
My soul has been calling and I have now heard
I am listening hard to every word
Ascending each day to a more beautiful place
The chapter I now open is named ‘Breathing Space’
For the past two years, I’ve been working with Soul Signatures® alongside breathwork, weaving these two powerful modalities together to create my own unique breathwork sessions.
Soul Signatures® offer a deeper understanding of the different energies and qualities of our soul, while breathwork creates the space to explore, release and create.
Together, they offer an opportunity to connect more deeply with ourselves, to become aware of what may be ready to shift or transform, and to embody more fully the qualities and potential that are already within us.
Over the next few months, I’ll be writing more about Soul Signatures®, exploring each of the different signatures and what they have come to mean to me through my own experience. I’ll also be sharing more about my breathwork journey, the insights, challenges and shifts along the way.
And alongside each Soul Signature®, I’ll share a poem I have written that connects with its energy and qualities.
These poems have become a way of processing, expressing and making sense of my own journey. They are snapshots of where I was at different points along the way and perhaps something in the words will resonate with your own journey too.
